3D Printing and Custom Parts in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford

3D Printing and Custom Parts

Broken part that is no longer made? We can print you a new one.

Why 3D Printing at e-Doctor

We have spent over 10 years fixing things instead of replacing them. 3D printing is a natural extension of that. When a small plastic part fails and the manufacturer has stopped supplying it, the whole appliance, tool or device usually gets thrown out. Often all it needs is one bracket, one clip or one gear.

We design and print those parts here in Dungarvan.

What We Print

Replacement and discontinued parts Fridge and freezer shelf clips, washing machine and cooker knobs, vacuum attachments, drawer runners, laptop hinges and feet, remote control battery covers, car interior trim clips, garden equipment parts.

Prototypes and small batches for business Test a design before committing to tooling. Ideal for product development, packaging trials and proof of concept work.

Jigs, fixtures and workshop tooling Alignment jigs, drilling guides, tool holders and bench organisers made to your measurements.

Mounts, brackets and enclosures Wall mounts, camera and sensor brackets, cable management, project boxes and electronics enclosures.

Hobby and model parts RC and drone spares, model railway pieces, tabletop terrain and miniature bases, board game inserts and organisers.

Personalised items Name plates, keyrings, signage, display stands and one-off gifts.

Print Size

We print single parts up to 330mm x 320mm x 325mm.

Larger items can be split into sections and bonded, so being over that size does not automatically rule a job out. Send us the details and we will tell you.

Materials

The right material depends on what the part has to survive. We will advise you when we quote.

Material Best for

PLA

Models, prototypes, display pieces, indoor parts with no heat or load

PETG

The everyday workhorse. Tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat. Good for most functional replacement parts

ABS

Impact resistant parts that need to tolerate heat, and parts that will be sanded, glued or vapour smoothed

ASA

Same strengths as ABS but UV stable, so it holds up outdoors without going brittle or fading

TPU (flexible)

Gaskets, seals, bumpers, grips, protective covers, anything that needs to bend

Available on request: Polycarbonate (PC) and polymer fibre reinforced filaments for high strength and high temperature applications. These are quoted after a test print so we can confirm the part will come out right.

Send Us Your File

We accept STL, 3MF, OBJ and STEP files.

No file? Not a problem. Send us clear photos of the part, ideally with a ruler or a coin beside it for scale, along with the key measurements. For simple parts we can model it for you. Design time is included in the quote and agreed with you before we start.

You can email your files or send photos to us on WhatsApp.

Pricing

We quote per job. The price depends on part size, material, print time, strength required and any finishing work.

Most small parts fall in the €25 to €50 range. Larger or more complex jobs are quoted once we have seen the file or the part.

Quotes are free and there is no obligation.

What We Do Not Print

  1. Firearm components or parts of weapons
  2. Keys, security bypass tools or anything designed to defeat a lock
  3. Copyrighted, trademarked or licensed designs without permission

Please also note that standard 3D printed parts are not suitable for food contact or for dishwashers. If your item needs to touch food or be handled by young children, ask us about PLA Pure. We will always tell you honestly if 3D printing is the wrong answer for your part, particularly for structural or safety critical applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a print take? Small parts are often ready in a day or two. Large or multi part jobs take longer. We give you a realistic timescale with your quote.

Can you copy a part I already have? Usually yes, if we can measure it accurately. Bring it into the shop or send photos with measurements. Complex organic shapes are harder than simple mechanical parts.

Is a printed part as strong as the original? It depends on the material and the design. For most household and hobby parts, printed replacements last well. For high load parts we will tell you what to expect before you spend anything.

Can you print something food safe or safe for a child? We offer PLA Pure, a filament certified to EU food contact and European toy safety standards, printed with a dedicated nozzle. It suits dry food contact items and children's toys. It is not suitable for liquids, hot food or the dishwasher. Ask us and we will tell you whether your item is a good fit.

Do you print in colour? Yes, we stock a range of colours. Tell us what you need and we will confirm availability.

Can you help with a design from scratch? We can model simple to moderate parts from your sketches, photos or measurements. For complex engineering work we will be straight with you about what is realistic.

Do you take business and trade work? Yes. We work with businesses across County Waterford and County Cork. Get in touch to discuss ongoing or repeat work.
